How Insultec works
Insultec membranes and coatings have a remarkable ability to stop solar heat transfer. In fact Insultec can stop 90% of infrared and 85% of ultra violet light from entering a structure, re-radiating it back into the atmosphere. Insultec is applied to the external surface of a structure in fluid form and dries to form a solid protective finish. Typical uses and effects include:
On metal roofing, to reduce expansion and contraction – a cause of structural damage which requires continual maintenance or leads to premature replacement.
On concrete, to reduce expansion and contraction – a cause of masonry cracking.
To reduce the reliance on mechanical means of cooling internal air space in buildings, factories and warehouses thus using less energy which will save you money. Where air conditioning is required, a smaller unit may be sufficient.
You can increase productivity and performance, plus lower absenteeism with an improved working / living environment for your personnel and provide better conditions for customers.
You can reduce stock losses caused by overheated warehouses.
Insultec can effectively reduce costs by extending structural life expectancy and by reducing energy consumption. Savings on air conditioning usage have been reported above 61%. Combined savings on labour, energy and structural repair make economic sense in today's conditions where money and cash flow is tight. Plus you are doing something positive for greenhouse gas emissions through less demand on electricity for air conditioning.
Insultec
This specialised coating contains thermal insulating properties that help regulate indoor temperatures by reflecting heat in the summer and retaining warmth in the winter.
As a result, it can significantly reduce heating and cooling costs, leading to lower energy bills and a smaller carbon footprint. Additionally, insultec paint can improve indoor comfort by minimizing temperature fluctuations and reducing the reliance on HVAC systems.
Its application is relatively simple and versatile, suitable for both residential and commercial properties, and can be used on various surfaces, including walls, roofs, and metal structures. Environmentally friendly, containing low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making them a sustainable choice for eco-conscious consumers
Insulprime
Insulprime is a water based pure Acrylic polymer coating with excellent adhesion to most surfaces. It has low odour and does not splatter.
Insulprime is suitable for either interior or exterior use over timber, brick, masonry*, Gyprock, ceramic tiles, galvanised iron, previously painted steel, vinyl, laminate, aluminium, Colorbond and gloss enamel surfaces after correct preparation. (Note: Bare steel requires a suitable metal primer, before applying Insulprime)
(Do not use Insulprime on Tilt UP Panels as the new panels have a rubber like residue. The panels need at least a six month weathering. *In areas of substantial rainfall it is preferable to use our RP Primer on masonry).
Insulglaze
Insulglaze is a premium water-based coating that appears milky when applied and dries to a crystal-clear, transparent finish. It provides excellent resistance to ultraviolet (UV) exposure and offers outstanding protection against fingerprints, mineral deposits, alkalis, grease, and other common contaminants.
The coating features excellent self-cleaning properties, helping surfaces remain cleaner for longer while reducing maintenance requirements.
Insulglaze can be applied as a protective clear topcoat over Insultec and other matt acrylic coatings to improve durability and appearance. It is also suitable for use on polycarbonate surfaces, where it helps protect against UV degradation and extends surface life.
In addition, Insulglaze enhances the gloss level of the substrate, providing a cleaner, brighter, and more attractive finish.
Insultec Plus
Insultec Plus is a modified version of Insultec, specially formulated to meet individual customer requirements and specific project performance criteria.
While standard Insultec is suitable for the vast majority of applications, some projects require additional performance characteristics to address unique operating environments or climatic conditions.
Working closely with our experienced technical team and chemist, Insultec collaborates with customers to develop tailored solutions for challenging applications. This collaborative approach often enables customers to overcome technical problems that previously had no practical or cost-effective solution, creating new opportunities for improved performance, durability and asset protection.
